Jack Layton – Let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic, And we’ll change the world
Jack Layton is a fine inspiration to me, so I have been emailing some friends around the world, and I am attaching Jack’s letter. His message to young Canadians especially speaks to me as my son is now becoming a young man.
A great Canadian, Jack Layton, died today, prematurely in the prime of his life and career at age 61, I would like you to know about him because I believe he is a true inspiration to well-meaning, active people everywhere, people like you and me.
He accomplished an unusual task in his final hours with his family and working friends gathered around – he wrote an inspiring last letter to his fellow Canadians. (I quote the last few paragraphs here, and leave a link to his full letter and to some reminiscences in our Press.)
Quote: “To young Canadians: All my life I have worked to make things better. Hope and optimism have defined my political career, and I continue to be hopeful and optimistic about Canada. Young people have been a great source of inspiration for me. I have met and talked with so many of you about your dreams, your frustrations, and your ideas for change. More and more, you are engaging in politics because you want to change things for the better. Many of you have placed your trust in our party. As my time in political life draws to a close I want to share with you my belief in your power to change this country and this world. There are great challenges before you, from the overwhelming nature of climate change to the unfairness of an economy that excludes so many from our collective wealth, and the changes necessary to build a more inclusive and generous Canada. I believe in you. Your energy, your vision, your passion for justice are exactly what this country needs today. You need to be at the heart of our economy, our political life, and our plans for the present and the future.
And finally, to all Canadians: Canada is a great country, one of the hopes of the world. We can be a better one – a country of greater equality, justice, and opportunity. We can build a prosperous economy and a society that shares its benefits more fairly. We can look after our seniors. We can offer better futures for our children. We can do our part to save the world’s environment. We can restore our good name in the world. We can do all of these things because we finally have a party system at the national level where there are real choices; where your vote matters; where working for change can actually bring about change. In the months and years to come, New Democrats will put a compelling new alternative to you. My colleagues in our party are an impressive, committed team. Give them a careful hearing; consider the alternatives; and consider that we can be a better, fairer, more equal country by working together. Don’t let them tell you it can’t be done.
My friends, love is better than anger. Hope is better than fear. Optimism is better than despair. So let us be loving, hopeful and optimistic. And we’ll change the world.
All my very best,
Jack Layton” Unquote

P.S. I had the great pleasure of attending a talk and meditation by Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh last Sunday here in Vancouver. He spoke of Mindfulness, Right Speech, Deep Listening , and Reconciliation – another very fine epitaph for Jack Layton.
We Are All Connected
Let’s bring this thought into our every day.

Hello world! An Auspicious Start to this Blog with Turbo Seminar #1 !
The Centerpiece of Turbo Seminar #1, February 26-28 2010 – a huge amount of small group and personal time with the great “Eagles” (in John’s metaphor) of internet marketing:
- intimate and lengthy discussions with Mark Joyner and John Delavera, and as a result, personal breakthroughs for me, and apparently other people too
- getting to know online friends face to face – so much better than webinars and email
- learning from experienced marketers and teachers like Simon Leung (Google Insider) and Andy Huang, Lee Collins (Hybrid Marketing), Morgan Westerman (Interview with God; Affiliate strategies, Glen Dietzel (Intellectual Property and publishing), Warren Whitlock (Being an Expert), Susan Preston (Being Yourself – Social Media), and Mike Wesely (Article Cartel traffic system);
- Jeremy Gislayson dropped in for a day; Albert Hallado gave a very moving speech.
- We missed not meeting Joe Sugarman (threatened by Tsunami) and Ken McArthur (snowed in), but next year?
The discussions with Mark highlighted Inspiration, Choice and Habits, in other words:
- who am I
- where am I going, and
- how do I travel in that direction most effectively
- and the foundation of it all, where is my joy?
Some of the Inspirational pieces that Mark and John brought to our attention below:

Mark Joyner
As I said, Mark does his best to shake us loose from some of the thoughts and behaviors that might not serve too well. To interrupt some patterns he pointed us to:
The Magic Story
After scratching around online a bit for it, I felt this old story, “ The Magic Story ”, deserves better expression that it seems to currently get online, so I will offer it in several ways at http://themagicstory.info/
But really, the main purpose of reading a story like this is to reconnect to “ My Magic Story ”, our own magic story that whispers to us now and then, and is waiting to be told out loud.
I hope we can have fun with this.

John Delavera
I have been with John’s Turbomembership for more than 2 years, and it has surely changed my life, and the weekend was certainly a highlight. To get some idea why, check out the following right now, and I will explain more in other posts:
John Delavera: “I have a vision”

John Delavera: “Be a Shakespeare of your Kind”

As well as watching the videos, be sure to download the pdf documents to read about John and his introduction to the story.
Then, for anyone interested in internet marketing, be sure to go ahead and read “The Big Yellow Book”; it can change your life.

Eagles
John talked about joining the Internet Marketing Eagles this weekend, so let me say this about that, and I will take it further later:
From the book, “Medicine Cards” (Jamie Sams and David Carson), we learn:
“ Eagle medicine is the power of the Great Spirit, the connection to the Divine. It is the ability to live in the realm of spirit, and yet remain connected and balanced within the realm of Earth.
…
Eagle represents a state of grace achieved through hard work, understanding, and a completion of the tests of initiation which results in the taking of one’s personal power.
…
Eagle Medicine is the gift we give ourselves to remind us of the freedom of the skies. Eagle asks you to give yourself permission to legalize freedom and to follow the joy of your heart desires.”

Main Point
Eagle reminds you to take heart, gather your courage, soar above your usual habits, and
JUST GO FOR IT!
